Pains of Film?
For those of us who were lucky enough to shoot with film should know what we’re talking about. The inability to really know if we got the shot until after processing, the cost of the film and processing, the waiting for processing and did we mention the cost?
Shooting on film did teach us how to really be in-tune with our equipment and treat each shot as a one and only chance to capture the moment. You won’t find the “fix it in Photoshop later” mentality here.
All-Digital Workflow
Switching to an all-digital workflow several years ago allowed for quicker event-to-web processing at a fraction of the cost of shooting film. This means cost savings for you in the end.
After an event, the photos are transferred into Aperture and immediately backed up. Photos are then put through a quick processing session to touch up exposure, white balance, color, levels, noise and to weed out any less than perfect photos (yes, they do happen.) The photos are then backed up again, exported, watermarked and posted to the web.
Once the photos are posted online, you have the option of password protecting your event. If you choose this option, you and only you are given the authority to view your event. Speaking Digital will not give anybody access to your event’s photos, not even your grandma. You will need to hand out your username and password to the people you want to view the photos.
Types of Events
We mostly cover sporting events, but do offer senior, family and product photography. If you have an event that doesn’t fall into these categories, please feel free to drop us a line and discuss coverage of the event. Just because we didn’t categorize your event, doesn’t mean we don’t want to cover it. It just means you have a very unique event that we need to discuss more in-depth.
Proofing Your Photos
All final photos from your event will be posted online. If you choose, we can provide printed proofs to you. The cost for printed proofs will be discussed with you before printing. Loose proofs will be charged at regular print price. You can also get your proofs in book format if you so choose. Cost of proof books is dependent on the final number of proofs to be included in the book, so pricing will change from event to event.
