Just a heads up on the upcoming pricing change
I just wanted to let everyone know about the upcoming pricing change on August 1, 2009. On that date, pricing for hourly services (web design/development, computer hardware/software work, etc.) and my photography sitting fee will increase. Pricing for all photography prints, packages, books and the book setup fee will stay the same.
Look for the hourly rate to increase to $35 per hour instead of $25 per hour and for my photography sitting fee to increase to $40 from $30.
What’s this pricing shenanigans all about?
Basically, I’ve been reviewing the work I’ve been doing over the past year or so and have come to the realization that my time is much more valuable to me now. My sitting fee increase has been in the works and I just never got around to implementing it. I do a lot of work that I don’t charge extra for (retouching, color correction, unlimited time spent at a shoot, etc.) that I feel justifies this increase.
I chose August 1 as the date to change the pricing since it really kicks off the new school year, which most of my photography revolves around. I know my hourly services don’t have anything to do with the school year, but it’s just easier to change everything at the same time as opposed to implementing one change now and another on January 1.
